The New York vibe is alive and thriving in Vanessa
Trouble. She is a vocalist and band leader bringing
an energetic, nuanced sensuality to the American
jazz and swing songbook and occasionally styling
new classics. She's honed her vocal and
performance skills all over the country and abroad,
fronting various jazz ensembles across American
jazz hotspots and in Europe and Asia. She is a
frequent choice for private engagements like
weddings and corporate entertaining.
Vanessa is a featured vocalist around Manhattan
and the Hamptons with her ensembles. She
regularly performs at Swing 46, Opia Lounge, The
Grand Havana Room and The Bubble Lounge in
Manhattan, and at Pierre's in Bridgehampton. Past
engagements have included Tavern on the Green,
The Screening Room, Café Deville, Torch, Cibar,
Metronome, and The Mansfield Hotel "M" Bar.
Festivals include Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA, and the
Old Westbury Summer Concert Series.
Vanessa currently fronts her New York City based
"modern retro" swing band, The Red Hot Swing that
boasts an 11 years solid back-up band of Mark
McCarron, guitar, Stefan Schatz, drums, Andrew Hall,
bass, Michael Hashim, saxophone, and Marty Bound,
trumpet. She performs regularly with notable
guitarists Nick Demopoulos, James Chirillo and Steve
Salerno, bassists Sean Smith, Neal Minor, Jim
Whitney and Peter Weiss, pianists Don Stein, Bennett
Paster and Michael Kanan, and trumpet virtuoso
Charlie Caranicas.
Vanessa's CD's include The Summer Sessions (1999)
